Description

This QTX 2-way crossover splits an incoming audio signal into high and low frequency bands, sending each to the right driver in your speaker. It works at a crossover point of 3kHz, so lower frequencies pass to the woofer while the higher frequencies go to the tweeter. The result is cleaner sound with each driver handling the range it is built for.

The crossover is rated at 200W and works with 4 or 8 ohm setups, giving you flexibility across a range of speaker builds. It uses a 12dB per octave slope, which gives a steady roll-off either side of the crossover point and helps keep the two frequency bands from overlapping too much. The components are chosen for good sound reproduction and reliable handling of the power passing through them.

Fitting a passive crossover like this one is a common part of building or repairing a two-way speaker, whether for hi-fi, PA or a custom cabinet. You wire it between the amplifier input and your two drivers, and it does its work with no external power needed. If you are matching parts, check the impedance and power rating against your drivers so everything sits within its limits.

Frequently Asked

What does a 2-way crossover do?

It splits the audio signal into two frequency bands, sending high frequencies to the tweeter and low frequencies to the woofer so each driver handles the range it suits.

What is the crossover frequency?

The crossover point is 3kHz. Frequencies below this pass to the low driver, and those above go to the high driver.

What impedance does it support?

It works with both 4 ohm and 8 ohm speaker setups.

How much power can it handle?

It is rated at 200W. Keep your amplifier and drivers within this figure for safe use.

What is the slope rating?

It uses a 12dB per octave slope, giving a steady roll-off either side of the 3kHz crossover point.

Does it need a power supply?

No. This is a passive crossover, so it wires between your amplifier and drivers without any external power.
