Description

The QTX VHN2 is a dual channel VHF wireless microphone system that pairs a handheld transmitter with a beltpack and neckband headset mic. Both feed into a single half-width 1U receiver, so you can run two sources at once from one tidy unit. It's a practical setup for presentations, fitness classes, houses of worship and small stage work where you need one person on a handheld and another hands-free.

The two channels run on fixed frequencies of 173.8MHz and 174.8MHz, which are license-free to use in the UK. Range reaches up to 50m in the clear, and the receiver gives you both a balanced XLR output and a 6.3mm jack output, so it connects straight into a mixer or powered speaker. The signal to noise ratio sits above 85dB with total harmonic distortion below 0.2%, keeping speech clear and clean. Note that a maximum of two VHF frequencies can be operated together, so this system is designed to work as a self-contained pair rather than being stacked with more VHF units.

Everything you need to get going is in the box. The receiver runs from the supplied 10Vac 250mA power supply, and both transmitters take a 9V PP3 battery, which are also included. A jack lead is supplied too. The handheld transmitter measures 270 x 45mm and weighs 190g without its battery, while the beltpack is a compact 205 x 68 x 25mm at 76g. The receiver itself is 45 x 210 x 180mm and weighs 573g. In the US you may see the neckband referred to as a headset mic and the beltpack as a bodypack; they mean the same thing here.
