Description

The QTX VH45B is a handheld VHF wireless microphone system built around a compact desktop receiver. It runs on a fixed operating frequency of 174.5MHz and gives you a working range of up to 50 metres, which suits small venues, presentations, karaoke and community events where you need to move around without a trailing cable.

Everything you need to get going comes in the box. The receiver takes a 9 to 15Vdc 200mA power supply, and the handheld transmitter runs on a 9V PP3 battery, both supplied. A 6.3mm jack lead is included too, so you can connect the receiver straight to a mixer, amp or powered speaker. The transmitter has on/off and mute controls on the body, letting you cut the audio between uses without switching off the whole unit.

On the performance side, the system posts a signal to noise ratio of more than 85dB and total harmonic distortion below 0.2%, so speech and vocals come through clean. The handheld transmitter measures 250 x 50mm in diameter and weighs 280g, while the receiver is a small 150 x 110 x 35mm and weighs 190g, so it sits neatly on a desk or shelf. Note that VHF (very high frequency) systems use a single fixed channel, so this is a straightforward one-mic setup rather than a multi-channel rig.
