Description

The QTX QT15SA is an active subwoofer built to add low end to a PA or mobile rig without needing a separate amplifier. The 15-inch driver and 600W amplifier sit inside a rugged wooden cabinet, and the whole unit is covered in carpet to help it stand up to regular transport and setup. It handles the bottom of the frequency range, so your main speakers can focus on mids and highs.

Setup is straightforward. There is an adjustable low pass filter with a cut-off frequency running from 40 to 150Hz, which lets you set where the sub takes over from your tops. Connections are made through XLR line in and XLR line out, so you can loop the signal through to further speakers. An integral 35mm pole-mount on the top lets you fit a satellite speaker (US: loudspeaker) directly above the sub, keeping your floor space clear.

Practical details make it easier to live with on the road. Metal corner protectors guard the edges of the cabinet, and side mounted carrying handles give you a firm grip when lifting and positioning. The unit runs from a standard 230Vac 50Hz IEC mains supply. It suits mobile DJs, small venues and anyone building a modest PA who wants extra bass from a self-powered box that is simple to connect and move.
