Description

The QTX heavy duty 6.3mm right-angle mono jack is an all-metal connector for instrument cables, patch leads and audio installations where space constraints require a 90-degree termination. The right-angle head extends horizontally from the cable entry point, allowing the connector to sit flat against a pedalboard, amplifier panel or rack-mounted equipment without placing lateral stress on the cable.

Designed for guitar, bass, keyboard and synthesiser connections, the connector accepts cable outer diameters up to 8mm and uses a knurled metal barrel for strain relief. The right-angle configuration is particularly useful on pedalboards where straight jacks would project vertically and consume more space, or in tight rack installations where cables need to route parallel to the equipment face. The mono contact configuration carries a single unbalanced signal on the tip and sleeve.

The metal shell provides screening and mechanical strength for workshop environments, live rigs and studio patch bays where connectors are handled frequently during setup and teardown. The barrel threads onto the body to secure the cable jacket, distributing pull forces across the barrel rather than concentrating them at the solder joints. For technicians building or repairing custom cables, the connector disassembles completely for soldering and reassembly.

Frequently Asked

What cable diameter does it accept?

The connector accepts cable outer diameters up to 8mm, which covers most standard instrument cable and some thicker patch cable constructions.

Is it suitable for balanced signals?

No. This is a mono (TS) jack carrying tip and sleeve contacts only. Balanced TRS signals require a stereo jack with an additional ring contact.

How is the right-angle orientation useful?

The 90-degree head sits flat against equipment panels, allowing cables to route parallel to pedalboards, amplifier fronts and rack faces without projecting vertically. This saves space and reduces mechanical strain on the cable in tight installations.

What tool is needed to assemble it?

A soldering iron is required to attach the cable conductors to the tip and sleeve contacts. The metal barrel threads onto the body by hand once the cable is soldered.
