Description

This is our Essential guitar lead, made for guitars, instruments and general audio work where you need to carry an unbalanced signal. It runs 6 metres, giving you room to move around a stage or studio without being tethered to your amp. One end fits a right-angled 6.3mm mono jack plug, the other a straight 6.3mm mono jack plug, which is the standard quarter-inch connector you'll find on most guitars and amplifiers.

The cable is fully shielded, which helps keep unwanted noise and interference out of your signal. It's built with a soft-grip, rubberised jacket that resists tangling, so it coils up cleanly and lays flat when you need it to. The core uses 7-strand conductors at 0.16mm diameter each, and the outer cable measures 6.0mm across. Connections are machine-soldered rather than hand-done, giving you consistent joints across the whole run.

The plugs are die-cast for durability, with the right-angled (90°) end useful when your guitar's socket sits flush against your body or a wall. If you play seated or move a lot, that angled plug takes pressure off the connection and reduces strain on the cable. Note that a mono jack lead like this is for instrument and unbalanced line use, not balanced signals, so pair it with the right gear. It's a straightforward, reliable lead for everyday practice, rehearsals and gigs.

Frequently Asked

How long is this guitar lead?

The cable is 6 metres long, giving you plenty of room to move between your instrument and amplifier on stage or in the studio.

What connectors does it use?

It has a straight 6.3mm mono jack plug on one end and a right-angled (90°) 6.3mm mono jack plug on the other. These are standard quarter-inch connectors.

Is this cable balanced or unbalanced?

It carries an unbalanced signal, which is standard for guitars and instruments. It isn't suited to balanced connections.

What is the right-angled plug useful for?

The 90° plug is handy when a guitar socket sits flush against your body or a wall, keeping the plug low-profile and reducing strain on the cable.

Does the cable help reduce noise?

Yes. It's fully shielded to help keep interference and unwanted noise out of your signal path.

Is the jacket prone to tangling?

No. The soft-grip, rubberised jacket is designed to resist tangling, so it coils and lays flat easily.
