Description

This QTX square dome tweeter measures 2.25 inches and is fitted with a mylar dome. It handles 20W RMS and 40W maximum power, with an impedance of 8 Ohms. The frequency response runs from 3kHz up to 20kHz, so it covers the high end of the audio range where a dedicated tweeter earns its place.

We supply it for new speaker builds or as a straight replacement for a tired or failed unit. The square 59 x 59mm format sits neatly into a matching cut-out, and the mylar dome gives a light, responsive surface for reproducing treble detail. Sensitivity is rated at 91dB at 1W/1m, with a 12.5mm (0.5") voice coil and a 28g magnet behind it.

If you are matching components in a two or three-way setup, check the crossover point suits the 3kHz lower limit and pair it with a woofer or mid that covers the range below. The compact size makes it a sensible choice for cabinets and enclosures where space is tight but you still want clean high frequencies. Note that some listeners in the US refer to a tweeter as a high-frequency driver; the part and its job are the same either way.
