Description

The Pulsewave-2 is an 81mm recessed plaster wall light with an integrated 1W 3000K LED set behind a white gypsum panel. The fitting mounts flush into plasterboard walls with a projection of just 166mm from the wall surface, making it suitable for low-profile installations in hallways, stairwells, bedrooms and living rooms where ceiling lights are impractical or where you need supplementary wall-level illumination.

Designed to be plastered in during installation or retrofitted into existing walls, the gypsum faceplate can be painted to match surrounding wall colour once fitted. The LED behind the gypsum panel casts warm 3000K light through the material itself, turning the entire rectangular face into a low-intensity diffused light source rather than projecting a beam. This creates soft ambient wash light that highlights wall textures or provides gentle wayfinding in corridors without glare.

The 1W output is deliberately low — this is accent and architectural lighting rather than task lighting. The IP20 rating restricts use to dry indoor environments only. The gypsum construction weighs more than typical plastic or metal wall lights, so fixing into solid plasterboard or masonry is required — the perforated metal mounting brackets visible in the image provide the anchor points. The white gypsum arrives pre-primed and accepts standard emulsion or acrylic wall paints.

Can the gypsum faceplate be painted?

Yes. The white gypsum arrives pre-primed and accepts standard emulsion or acrylic wall paints. Paint after installation when the faceplate is flush with the surrounding wall. Allow paint to dry fully before switching on to avoid discolouration from heat.

Is this suitable for bathrooms?

No. The IP20 rating restricts use to dry indoor environments only. IP20-rated fittings are not protected against moisture ingress and should not be installed in bathrooms, kitchens with high steam levels, or any damp areas.

How much light does 1W provide?

The 1W LED output is deliberately low — this is accent lighting rather than task lighting. Expect soft ambient wash light suitable for wayfinding in hallways or gentle accent lighting in living rooms. It will not provide enough light for reading or detailed tasks.

Can it be installed in existing walls?

Yes, if you can cut a recess into the plasterboard and have access behind the wall to fit the mounting brackets and run power. The 166mm projection includes the mounting depth, so the fitting needs at least that much space behind the wall surface.
