Description

The Provence is a single wall light with a conical metal shade mounted on an adjustable knuckle joint, finished in polished nickel throughout. The shade pivots and rotates at the joint, allowing the light to be directed towards a reading position, down onto a worktop, or angled to wash a wall. The conical shade measures 210mm wide at the base and houses a single E27 bulb (sold separately).

Designed for task and accent lighting rather than primary room illumination, the Provence suits bedside reading positions, bathroom mirrors, kitchen worktops, and hallway features where directed light is needed without a fixed ceiling fitting. The 340mm projection from the wall and the adjustable head mean the light can be positioned close to a surface when needed or angled away when not in use. The polished nickel finish reflects both natural and artificial light, giving the fitting more visual presence than matt finishes in the same position.

The frame is constructed from steel and brass with a high-gloss polished nickel plate that shows a mirror-like finish when clean. This finish pairs with cooler-toned interiors, contemporary bathrooms, and traditional schemes where chrome or nickel hardware is already present. The E27 socket accepts bulbs up to 60W, giving flexibility to choose LED, halogen or filament bulbs depending on the light temperature and brightness needed for the application.

The fitting takes a standard E27 (Edison screw) bulb up to 60W. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with a 6-10W warm-white LED for reading or task lighting, or a 40W filament bulb for a warmer, softer glow.

Can the shade be adjusted after installation?

Yes. The shade pivots on a knuckle joint at the connection between the arm and the shade holder, allowing it to be angled up, down or to the side once fitted. This makes it suitable for directing light where needed without moving the entire fitting.

What's the projection from the wall?

The fitting projects 340mm from the wall when the arm is extended straight out. This is deeper than most wall lights, so check clearance in narrow hallways or above furniture before installation.

Is the polished nickel finish lacquered?

Polished nickel finishes are typically lacquered to prevent tarnishing and maintain the high-gloss mirror finish. Wipe with a soft, dry cloth to clean. Avoid abrasive cleaners or scouring pads that could scratch the surface.
