Description

The Provence is a single-light pendant or wall light with a polished nickel finish, a conical metal shade and three adjustable knuckle joints on the rod that allow the shade to be angled and directed after installation. The fitting can be mounted as a ceiling pendant on the rod or rotated 90 degrees and fixed to a wall as a swing-arm wall light.

Designed for kitchens, dining areas and reading corners where directed task light is needed, the Provence pairs the functional flexibility of mid-century French cafe lighting with a polished nickel finish that suits both contemporary and transitional interiors. When installed as a pendant over a kitchen island or dining table, the adjustable joints allow the shade to be angled to direct light onto the work surface or table without glare. When wall-mounted, the swing-arm configuration positions the light out from the wall and allows adjustment to suit different reading positions or desk heights.

The conical shade measures 174mm in height and tapers to a narrow opening at the base, concentrating light downwards rather than scattering it broadly across the room. The polished nickel finish on the shade, canopy and rod provides a reflective surface that catches ambient daylight and pairs cleanly with stainless steel appliances, chrome taps and cooler-toned kitchens. The fitting takes a single E27 bulb (sold separately), giving flexibility to choose LED, halogen or vintage filament styles depending on the light colour and brightness required.

Can this be installed as both a pendant and a wall light?

Yes. The Provence ships with fittings for both ceiling pendant installation and wall mounting. The adjustable knuckle joints work in either configuration, allowing the shade to be angled once installed.

What bulb does it take?

The fitting takes a single E27 bulb, sold separately. Most users pair this with a warm-white LED bulb between 6-10W for task lighting over kitchen islands or dining tables.

How far does the shade adjust?

The three knuckle joints on the rod allow the shade to be angled in multiple directions. The exact range of movement depends on how the rod is initially oriented during installation, but the joints provide sufficient flexibility to direct light onto most work surfaces or reading positions.

Is the polished nickel finish easy to maintain?

Polished nickel shows fingerprints and smudges more readily than brushed or satin finishes. Wipe with a soft microfibre cloth to remove marks. Avoid abrasive cleaners that can scratch the polished surface.
