Provence 1 Light Pendant - Polished Nickel

The Provence is a 370mm conical pendant light with a polished nickel shade suspended on dark twisted flex from a matching polished nickel ceiling rose. The shade sits 230mm tall at its apex and tapers to the 370mm diameter base, housing a single E27 bulb fitting (bulb sold separately) that directs light downward through the open base of the cone.

Designed for kitchen islands, dining tables and café-style installations where directed downlight is needed, the Provence works at heights between 700-900mm above a worktop or table surface. The 1600mm twisted flex allows the drop to be adjusted on installation between 280mm minimum and 2000mm maximum, accommodating ceiling heights from 2.4m to 3.5m or higher. The polished nickel canopy fits standard UK ceiling roses and the flex conceals the cable run.

The polished nickel finish gives a bright reflective surface that catches daylight and reflects ambient room light, making the fitting itself a visible design element rather than disappearing into the ceiling plane. The conical shape and clean proportions reference mid-century French and American diner lighting without heavy ornamentation. The fitting accepts any standard E27 LED, halogen or filament bulb up to 60W, giving flexibility to choose light temperature and brightness to suit the room.

What bulb does the Provence take?

The pendant takes a standard E27 (Edison screw) bulb up to 60W. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with a warm-white LED bulb between 6-10W and 2700K-3000K for kitchen or dining applications.

What height above a worktop or table is recommended?

For kitchen islands the pendant typically sits 700-800mm above the worktop surface. For dining tables 700-900mm above the table provides adequate illumination without glare when seated. The drop is adjustable on installation to suit your ceiling height.

Can multiple Provence pendants be hung in a row?

Yes. The Provence works well in multiples over long kitchen islands or dining tables. Space them 600-900mm apart depending on the length of the surface and the desired light coverage. Each pendant requires its own ceiling rose and wiring point.

How is the polished nickel finish maintained?

Wipe with a soft microfibre cloth to remove dust and fingerprints. For stubborn marks, a barely-damp cloth with warm water is acceptable. Avoid abrasive cleaners, metal polishes or solvents that can damage the plated finish.
