Description

The Pro Base is a 40cm cylindrical pendant light housed in a 3cm-diameter matt black aluminium tube with an integrated 6W LED emitting 4000K neutral white light. An acrylic diffuser at the base of the tube softens the LED output and prevents direct glare, directing downlight in a narrow cone suitable for task lighting over kitchen worktops, breakfast bars and office desks.

Designed for single or multi-pendant installation, the Pro Base fits standard UK ceiling roses via a cylindrical black canopy that conceals the cable connection. The 340cm maximum drop allows the pendant to be shortened during installation to suit ceiling heights from 2.4m upwards, with the typical installation height placing the base of the tube 70-90cm above a work surface. The narrow 3cm diameter minimises visual bulk when multiple pendants are hung in a row above an island or dining counter.

The matt black aluminium construction gives a low-sheen finish that reduces reflections and pairs cleanly with black metalwork elsewhere in the room, from cabinet handles to appliances. The 4000K colour temperature sits between warm white and cool white, providing neutral light that renders food preparation accurately without the yellow cast of 3000K or the clinical tone of 5000K. The IP20 rating limits use to dry indoor environments away from bathrooms and outdoor areas.

Is the LED replaceable?

The 6W LED is integrated into the aluminium tube and cannot be replaced by the end user. The LED is rated for approximately 25,000 hours of use, equivalent to around 10 years at 7 hours daily operation.

Can the cable length be shortened?

Yes. The 340cm maximum drop is adjustable during installation. An electrician can shorten the cable to suit your ceiling height and preferred pendant position above a worktop or table.

How many pendants are needed over a kitchen island?

A typical 1.5m-2m island suits 2-3 Pro Base pendants spaced 50-70cm apart. The narrow 3cm diameter allows closer spacing than wider pendant styles without visual clutter.

What colour temperature is 4000K?

4000K is neutral white, sitting between warm white (2700-3000K) and cool white (5000K+). It provides clear, balanced light for task areas without the yellow warmth of lower temperatures or the blue-white cast of higher temperatures.
