Description

The Principe is a round flush ceiling light, 50cm in diameter and only 10.5cm deep, so it sits close to the ceiling and suits rooms where a hanging pendant would crowd the space. The steel body has a gold finish with a crinkled, leaf-like texture, built in stepped tiers: a wide outer plate, a band of square-cut clear brilliant glass, then an inner ring lined with a second band of glass. Light comes from 10 integrated LEDs at 3.15W each, giving 380lm per light in a warm 3000K white. It is rated IP20, which makes it an indoor light for dry rooms.

We see it working best in a living room, dining room or bedroom. It also makes sense in a hallway with a modest ceiling height, where the shallow depth keeps headroom clear. The cut glass catches the light from the LEDs and throws a gentle sparkle around the room, so the space feels finished even with the light dimmed low. It suits anyone who wants a dressier look than a plain flush light gives, without giving up ceiling height. Because the LEDs are dimmable, you can run it bright for a family meal and bring it down for a quiet evening.

The LEDs are built in and not replaceable, so there are no bulbs to buy or change over the years. There is no switch on the light itself. It is switched at the wall and runs on 220-240V, 50/60Hz mains. Its energy class is E. As a mains fitting wired into the ceiling, it is installed by a qualified electrician, and the installation instructions are available as a download. Packed, it weighs 5.086KG. Before you order, it is worth marking out a 50cm circle on the ceiling to see how the light will sit in your room.
