The Portland Jute Border rug is a beige jute rug with a fine herringbone weave running across the whole surface, finished with a wide cotton border in a slightly paler beige. The body is 100% jute and the border is 100% cotton, and the construction is hand loom. Up close the herringbone gives the surface a gentle zigzag texture, while from across the room it reads as a calm, natural field of colour framed by that neat cotton edge.

This border rug sits easily in a living room, and the beige tone works happily with pale wood floors and light walls. We sell it in six rectangular sizes: 50 by 80cm and 60 by 120cm for a doorway or the side of a bed, 80 by 150cm for a reading corner, and 120 by 170cm, 150 by 230cm and 180 by 270cm to sit under a sofa, a coffee table or a bed. There are four runners too, at 60 by 230cm, 60 by 600cm, 60 by 800cm and 60 by 1000cm, for a hallway or a long landing.
