Description

The Polinesia Large is a 450mm outdoor table lamp built around a woven textilene shade shaped like a four-pointed star, set on a bronze-finish metal stem and circular base. The textilene rope is woven in a dense basket weave that creates vertical ridges around the shade, with gaps between the weave allowing light to pass through in controlled strips. An E27 bulb fitting sits inside the shade, with the bulb sold separately.

Designed for outdoor dining tables, side tables on patios, and lounge areas in gardens or balconies, the Polinesia carries an IP44 rating to withstand rain splash and outdoor dust. The 310mm-wide shade provides enough presence for a 4-6 person dining table without dominating smaller side tables. The bronze base and stem add 2.9kg of weight, giving the lamp stability on outdoor surfaces exposed to wind.

The textilene material is a polymer-coated polyester designed for outdoor furniture, offering the visual texture of woven rattan without the degradation natural fibres show when exposed to UV and moisture over repeated seasons. The beige tone sits between warm sand and pale taupe, pairing with natural wood garden furniture, stone patios, and rattan lounge sets. The E27 fitting accepts LED, halogen or filament bulbs up to 60W, with dimmable bulbs supported when paired with a compatible dimmer.

What does the IP44 rating mean for outdoor use?

IP44 means the lamp is protected against solid objects larger than 1mm and water splashing from any direction. It can be used on covered patios, balconies and garden tables exposed to rain, but should not be submerged or placed where it will sit in standing water.

What bulb does it take?

The lamp takes a standard E27 bulb up to 60W, sold separately. Most users pair it with a warm-white LED bulb between 6-10W and 2700K for ambient outdoor dining light. The lamp is dimmable when using a dimmable bulb and compatible dimmer.

How is the textilene cleaned?
