Description

The Points Rot is a 221mm linear track light built around a 12W integrated LED with DALI CCT dimming and adjustable colour temperature from 2700K to 6000K. The white aluminium housing fits Maytoni's Magnetic Exility track system, which uses a 48V DC magnetic connection for tool-free installation and repositioning along the track run.

Designed for galleries, retail environments, kitchens and offices where colour accuracy and flexible lighting control matter, the DALI protocol allows precise dimming and colour temperature adjustment through compatible control systems. The LED can be set to warm 2700K for residential ambient lighting, neutral 4000K for task work, or cool 6000K for areas needing high visual acuity. The swivel mechanism allows the head to tilt and rotate once fitted to the track, directing light onto walls, displays or worksurfaces without re-wiring.

The recessed LED sits behind a frosted diffuser that spreads light across a wider beam angle than a bare spot, reducing hard shadows and hotspots on vertical surfaces. The high CRI rating (specific value in the Specification table) ensures materials like fabric, wood grain and painted finishes appear true to their actual colour rather than shifting under artificial light. The white finish on the aluminium housing blends into white or light-coloured ceilings without drawing attention to the fitting itself.

The IP20 rating confirms this is an indoor-only fitting. The 48V DC supply runs through the Magnetic Exility track, so each individual light draws power magnetically when clipped into position rather than needing hard-wired connections. This makes it straightforward to add, remove or reposition lights along the track as room use or layout changes.

What is DALI CCT dimming?

DALI (Digital Addressable Lighting Interface) is a two-way communication protocol that allows precise control of dimming and colour temperature through compatible control systems. CCT (Correlated Colour Temperature) dimming means you can adjust the light from warm 2700K to cool 6000K on the same fitting.

Does this work with standard track systems?

No. The Points Rot is designed specifically for Maytoni's Magnetic Exility track system, which uses 48V DC magnetic power transfer. It will not fit traditional 240V mains-powered track rails.

Can the light head be adjusted once installed?

Yes. The swivel mechanism allows the head to tilt and rotate after being clipped onto the track, so you can direct light onto specific areas without re-positioning the track itself.

Is DALI control required, or can it be used without it?

A DALI-compatible controller is required to adjust dimming and colour temperature. Without a DALI controller, the light will operate at a fixed brightness and colour temperature determined by the driver's default settings.
