Description

The Points is a 330mm linear LED track light designed for magnetic track systems, housing an integrated 16W LED strip with a 36° beam angle. The white aluminium body contains a recessed LED array that sits behind the outer edge of the housing, creating what Maytoni calls an 'invisible light' effect where the light source itself is not directly visible from normal viewing angles.

Built for magnetic track systems operating on 48V DC, the Points attaches to the track via integrated magnetic connectors that hold the fitting in place and provide both power and data connection. This means the fitting can be repositioned along the track without tools, slid into a new position, and rotated on its mount to redirect the 36° beam where needed. The track light suits gallery walls, retail display shelving, kitchen worktop task lighting, and feature wall washing where directional accent light is required.

The recessed LED position reduces direct glare when the fitting is viewed from below or at an angle, making it more comfortable for extended exposure in dining areas, living rooms, or commercial settings where people spend time beneath the track. The 3000K colour temperature gives a warm white output that sits between traditional halogen (2700K) and cooler office lighting (4000K+). The aluminium construction measures 28mm high by 25mm wide, forming a low-profile bar that minimises visual bulk on the track.

The white powder-coated finish on the aluminium body pairs with white or light-toned ceilings to reduce the visual weight of the track system. The IP20 rating means the fitting is suitable for dry indoor environments but not for bathrooms, wet rooms, or outdoor installations. The 16W LED output is fixed and non-dimmable unless the magnetic track system itself includes dimming control.

Does this work with standard track lighting systems?

No. The Points requires a magnetic track system operating on 48V DC. It will not fit standard three-circuit mains-voltage track systems. The magnetic track and power supply must be purchased separately.

Is the LED dimmable?

The LED itself is not dimmable at the fitting level. Dimming depends on whether the magnetic track system includes dimming control in its power supply. Check with the track system manufacturer for dimming compatibility.

What's the beam angle and light output?

The integrated LED produces a 36° beam angle, making it suitable for accent lighting rather than wide area coverage. At 16W and 3000K, the output is comparable to a 100-120W halogen spotlight in a warm white tone.

Can it be repositioned after installation?

Yes. The magnetic mounting allows the fitting to be slid along the track and repositioned without tools. It can also be rotated on its mount to redirect the beam angle.
