Description

The Maytoni Points is a 220mm linear track light housing a 12W integrated LED with adjustable colour temperature from warm 2700K to cool daylight 6000K, controlled via DALI protocol. The white powder-coated aluminium body mounts onto Maytoni's magnetic Exility track system using a magnetic coupling rather than traditional fixed track clips, allowing the light to be repositioned along the track without tools or re-wiring.

Designed for accent and task lighting in kitchens, home offices, retail displays and gallery walls, the 36° beam angle concentrates light onto surfaces 1-2m below the track, making it suited to highlighting worktops, merchandise, artwork or architectural detail. The DALI dimming gives smooth control from 1-100% brightness and allows colour temperature adjustment without changing bulbs, so the same fitting can shift from warm evening lighting to bright task light during working hours. The recessed LED source sits behind the aluminium bezel, reducing direct glare when viewed from below.

The white finish pairs with ceiling-mounted or suspended track installations in contemporary interiors where visible track systems are part of the design intent. The 48V DC input requires a compatible Maytoni track driver (sold separately). The aluminium construction and IP20 rating suit dry indoor environments. The magnetic coupling means the light can be moved or removed for redecorating without disturbing the track wiring, and additional Points modules can be added to the same track run to extend coverage as room layouts change.

What is DALI dimming and do I need a special controller?

DALI is a digital lighting protocol allowing precise control of brightness and colour temperature via compatible controllers. You need a DALI-compatible control system to access these features. Without a DALI controller, the light operates at full brightness and default colour temperature.

Does this include the track or do I need to buy that separately?

The Points is the light module only. It requires a Maytoni Exility magnetic track system (sold separately) and a compatible 48V DC track driver to operate. The track, driver and any required suspension cables or mounting hardware are separate purchases.

Can I reposition the light after installation?

Yes. The magnetic coupling allows the Points module to be moved along the track without tools or re-wiring. Simply slide it to a new position or remove it entirely for cleaning or redecorating, then snap it back into place when needed.

What's the difference between 2700K and 6000K?

2700K produces a warm white light similar to traditional incandescent bulbs, suited to living spaces and evening use. 6000K is a cool daylight white that mimics midday natural light, preferred for task lighting in offices or kitchens. The Points allows you to adjust between these extremes via DALI control.
