Description

The Points is a 327mm linear track light with an integrated 18W LED array, designed to clip onto Maytoni's magnetic Exility track system. The black aluminium body houses a recessed LED strip that casts warm 3000K light through a 36° beam angle, focusing illumination downward onto surfaces rather than diffusing it broadly across a room.

Built for retail display lighting, gallery walls, kitchen worktops and architectural accent lighting where directed task light is needed without visible bulbs, the Points attaches magnetically to the Exility track and can be repositioned along the track length without tools. The DC 48V supply runs through the track itself, so there are no visible cables between individual fittings once installed. The 36° beam provides enough spread to light a 600-800mm section of wall or worktop from a ceiling height of 2.4-2.7m.

The aluminium construction dissipates heat along the 327mm body length, keeping the LED array within safe operating temperature without requiring active cooling or fans. The recessed LED sits behind the front edge of the housing, reducing direct glare when viewed from below and creating what Maytoni describes as an 'invisible light' effect where the fitting itself remains visually subtle while objects in the beam path are clearly lit. The IP20 rating limits use to dry interior spaces.

Does this work with standard mains track systems?

No. The Points requires Maytoni's magnetic Exility track system, which runs on DC 48V. It will not attach to standard three-circuit mains track rails from other manufacturers.

Can the light be dimmed?

Dimming depends on the Exility track system's driver and control setup. The Points itself does not include onboard dimming — check the specification of your Exility track driver to confirm dimming capability.

What does the 36° beam angle cover?

At a typical ceiling height of 2.4-2.7m, the 36° beam covers approximately 600-800mm of horizontal surface. Multiple Points fittings are typically spaced along the track to provide continuous coverage across longer runs.

Is it suitable for bathroom use?

No. The IP20 rating means the Points is only suitable for dry interior spaces. It does not carry the IP44 or IP65 rating required for bathroom zones.
