Description

This pleated ivory candle shade clips directly onto candle-style bulbs on chandeliers, wall lights and table lamps. The shade is made from polycotton fabric with vertical pleats sewn into the structure, creating a textured surface that diffuses light softly and casts a warm glow through the material. The clip-on fitting sits on the bulb itself, meaning no additional hardware is needed beyond the existing lamp.

The shade suits chandeliers with multiple exposed candle bulbs where coordinated shades are needed across several arms, wall lights in hallways and bedrooms, and traditional table lamps with candlestick-style bases. The ivory tone is neutral enough to work across period, classical and contemporary schemes without requiring the rest of the room to match a specific colour palette. The pleated construction keeps the shade's shape rigid without an internal wire frame.

The polycotton fabric is washable and more durable than pure cotton or paper alternatives, handling the heat from incandescent or LED candle bulbs without yellowing quickly. The pleats run vertically from the top rim to the bottom edge, giving the shade a structured profile that holds its bell shape during use. When fitted to a multi-arm chandelier the individual shades remain visible as separate elements rather than blending into a single mass of fabric.

Frequently Asked

How does the clip-on fitting work?

The shade has a metal clip built into the top rim that grips directly onto the candle bulb itself, sitting between the bulb base and the bulb body. This means no separate shade carrier or adapter ring is needed — the shade clips onto the bulb and stays in place.

What bulb types is it suitable for?

The shade works with standard candle bulbs (E14 or B15 base types) in LED, halogen or low-wattage incandescent formats. LED candle bulbs are recommended as they generate less heat than halogen or incandescent equivalents.

Can it be cleaned?

Yes. The polycotton fabric can be spot-cleaned with a damp cloth and mild detergent, or hand-washed in cool water if removed from the fitting. Allow the shade to dry fully before re-fitting to avoid heat damage to damp fabric.

What size bulb does it fit?

The clip fits standard candle bulbs approximately 35-40mm in diameter at the widest point. Most E14 and B15 LED candle bulbs fall within this range. Check the bulb diameter before ordering if using decorative flame-tip or oversized candle bulbs.
