Description

The Playitas is an LED pendant light made from two flat bars of steel and aluminium in a satin nickel finish. The bars are set slightly apart and joined at a gentle kink in the centre. It hangs on fine wires from a slim rectangular ceiling plate and measures 120cm long and 16cm wide, with an overall height of 150cm. The LEDs are integrated, so there is no bulb to buy or change, and together they give 3,500lm of light. It is rated IP20, which settles where it belongs: indoors, in a dry room.

Its long, low line suits a dining table best. The light can run the length of the table, and the offset bars give the shape some movement from every seat. It would sit just as well over a kitchen island or a long desk in a study. With 3,500lm available and full dimming, one pendant can light a busy family supper and then drop to a soft glow for a quiet evening. The satin nickel finish has a gentle brushed sheen that sits comfortably against pale walls and alongside black metal or natural wood.

You control it by app or with the remote control that comes in the box. From either one you can dim it, adjust the colour temperature of its white light, or switch to colour-changing RGB. There is no switch on the pendant itself, so it is switched at the wall. The height is adjustable by hand, letting you set the bars at the right level over your table. It runs on 220-240V mains and weighs 4.215KG packed. As a wired-in mains light, it should be installed by a qualified electrician, and the installation instructions are available as a download.
