The Plantation is a single-light outdoor wall bracket with a pineapple-cut optic glass shade held within a burnished brass frame, rated IP44 for exterior installation. The glass is moulded with a crosshatch pattern that refracts light from the central G9 bulb, casting varied tonal patterns on adjacent surfaces. A burnished brass canopy and decorative backplate with diamond-lattice surface detailing anchor the fitting to the wall, while a matching brass crown caps the glass shade at the top.

Designed for porch entrances, covered patios and veranda walls, the Plantation provides accent lighting at doorways or alongside windows where a decorative fixture complements classical or colonial-revival architecture. The IP44 rating protects against moisture ingress from rain and splashing, making the fitting suitable for installation under a soffit or overhang where it is not directly exposed to standing water. The 165mm projection from the wall and 220mm height suit typical door-surround proportions without overwhelming narrower entrances.

The aluminium frame carries a burnished brass finish — a mid-tone metallic surface that sits between polished brass and antique brass, with subtle tonal variation across the surface that deepens over time with exposure. The pineapple motif in the glass shade references mid-century hospitality symbolism, adding a layer of decorative reference to a fundamentally functional fitting. The included 3W LED G9 bulb at 3000K provides warm white output sufficient for safe passage lighting at night without overpowering the glass.

What does the IP44 rating mean?

IP44 provides protection against solid objects larger than 1mm and splashing water from any direction. The Plantation is suitable for installation under a porch overhang, soffit or covered veranda where it is shielded from direct rain and standing water. It is not suitable for fully exposed positions without overhead cover.

Does it come with a bulb?

Yes. The fitting includes a 3W LED G9 bulb at 3000K colour temperature, providing warm white light output. The bulb is replaceable if it fails, and the fitting accepts any G9 bulb up to 3W.

Can the burnished brass finish be used in coastal locations?

The aluminium construction and burnished brass finish provide reasonable corrosion resistance, but salt air accelerates tarnishing of brass finishes. In coastal locations within 500m of the sea, the finish will develop a patina more quickly than in inland areas. Regular rinsing with fresh water helps slow this process.

What fixings are supplied?

The fitting includes standard masonry fixings suitable for brick, block and rendered walls. For installation on timber cladding, pebbledash or stone, use fixings appropriate to the substrate. The backplate has two mounting points spaced 102mm apart vertically.
