Description

This Pisces zodiac coaster is made of wood with a glossed purple top, printed in white with the twin fish of the sign. The two fish swim in opposite directions, drawn in fine line work and surrounded by small stars and dots. Above them sits the word Pisces, and across the top, over a thin line, run the sign's dates, Feb 19 to March 20. Beneath the fish, three words are printed one above another: Empathetic, Dreamy and Sensitive. It is square with gently rounded corners and measures 9.6cm high, 9.5cm wide and 0.4cm thick, so it sits neatly under an everyday mug or tumbler.

Set it on a bedside table for an evening cup of tea, on a desk beside the keyboard, or on a coffee table where the sign is sure to start a conversation. At 9.5cm wide it gives a standard mug a steady place to rest without crowding a small surface, and because it is only 0.4cm thick it slips easily into a drawer when the table is cleared. With the name of the sign and its dates printed on the front, it makes an easy small gift for anyone born under Pisces, or a little treat for yourself if the twin fish are your own sign.

The glossed top gives the purple a smooth sheen and keeps the white line work crisp, while the back is left unprinted in a speckled light brown and lies flat on the table. To keep it looking its best, wipe the top with a soft damp cloth and dry it straight away; as with most wooden pieces, it is best not left to soak or stand in water. We like it on a tea tray beside other purple and white pieces, or wrapped in tissue paper with a handwritten card as a small present that is simple to post and lovely to open.
