The Piper is a 381mm diameter semi-flush ceiling light built around three E14 bulb holders set inside a drum of vertical polished chrome rods. Clear glass beads and spheres cascade from the lower edge of the drum on fine chains, creating a layered effect that catches and refracts light when the bulbs are lit. The 378mm drop fits in rooms with ceiling heights of 2.2m or above where a full pendant would hang too low.

Designed for bedrooms, hallways and living rooms with standard 2.4m ceilings, the Piper provides both ambient and decorative light through the combination of direct bulb light and refracted sparkle from the glass elements. The polished chrome frame and ceiling canopy fit standard UK ceiling roses and the fitting is supported by three steel suspension cables concealed within the rod assembly. Each E14 socket takes candle bulbs up to 60W (sold separately), with most users pairing it with three LED candle bulbs at 4-6W and 2700K for warm residential lighting.

The vertical chrome rods and glass droplets give the fitting depth and movement without the visual bulk of a solid shade. The glass beads are individually hung on connecting rings and chains, so they shift slightly when air moves through the room. What bulbs does the Piper take?

What ceiling height is needed?

The 378mm drop works in rooms with ceiling heights of 2.2m or above. In a typical 2.4m ceiling room, the base of the glass droplets will sit approximately 2m from the floor, keeping the fitting clear of head height in circulation areas.

Is it suitable for low ceilings?

Yes. The semi-flush design keeps the fitting close to the ceiling plane, making it a better choice than a full pendant for bedrooms, hallways and living rooms with standard 2.4m ceilings or lower.

How is the fitting cleaned?

The glass beads collect dust over time. Switch off at the mains and allow bulbs to cool fully, then wipe the chrome rods and glass elements with a dry microfibre cloth. For heavier dust, a barely-damp cloth is acceptable, but avoid soaking the metal frame or getting moisture into the bulb holders.
