Description

The Pietra is a single-light wall light with a frosted glass shade shaped as a tulip bloom, held on a curved antique brass stem that extends from a circular backplate. The backplate houses an integrated rocker switch, allowing the light to be controlled at the fitting without needing a separate wall switch. The fitting takes a single G9 bulb up to 40W (sold separately) and is compatible with dimmable G9 bulbs when paired with a dimmer switch on the circuit.

Designed for bedrooms, hallways, living rooms and landing areas where wall-mounted task or accent lighting is needed, the Pietra sits 370mm tall and projects 85mm from the wall once fitted. The compact 150mm width makes it suitable for narrower wall sections or for pairing in symmetrical installations either side of a bed, mirror or doorway. The antique brass finish has a brushed, slightly oxidised appearance that pairs well with warm-toned traditional and transitional interiors.

The frosted glass shade diffuses the G9 bulb's output into soft ambient light rather than a focused beam, making the Pietra better suited to background illumination than concentrated reading light. The tulip shape echoes classical botanical wall sconces from the early 20th century, while the integrated switch removes the need to reach for a pull cord or bedside lamp control. The 0.6kg weight and standard UK wiring compatibility allow straightforward installation on plasterboard or masonry walls.

The frosted glass shade projects only 85mm from the wall, keeping the fitting flat enough for narrower spaces. At 0.6kg it stays light for fixing. A 1 year warranty applies.

The fitting takes a single G9 capsule bulb up to 40W. Bulbs are sold separately. We suggest pairing this with a warm-white LED G9 bulb between 3-5W and 2700K-3000K for ambient bedroom or hallway lighting.

Is the integrated switch useful for bedside installation?

Yes. The rocker switch on the backplate allows the light to be controlled at the wall without reaching for a bedside lamp or pull cord. This makes it practical for bedside reading positions or hallway installations where a central ceiling switch is inconvenient.

Can it be dimmed?
