Pickering Lane 3 Light Semi-Flush Ceiling Light - Polished Nickel

The Pickering Lane is a 3 light semi-flush ceiling light built around a seeded glass shade in a storm lantern shape, capped top and bottom with polished nickel metalwork and suspended on a short turned stem from a matching polished nickel ceiling plate. Three E14 candle bulbs (sold separately) sit inside the glass, and the seeded texture diffuses their light across the shade surface.

Designed for rooms with ceiling heights of 2.2-2.6m where a pendant would hang too low, the semi-flush format places the glass body close to the ceiling while maintaining a gap for heat dissipation. The 254mm width suits hallways, landing areas, smaller dining rooms and bedroom central positions. The fixture can also be chain-suspended on installation if preferred, with 915mm of chain supplied allowing conversion to a pendant configuration with a maximum 1405mm drop.

The polished nickel finish provides a cooler metallic tone than brass or bronze, pairing well with greys, whites and cool-toned contemporary palettes while retaining the traditional farmhouse proportions of the storm lantern glass. The seeded texture inside the glass creates visible texture and light refraction when the bulbs are on, preventing the interior metalwork from dominating the appearance. At 427mm total height including ceiling plate and stem, the fitting projects approximately 400mm from the ceiling when semi-flush mounted.

What bulbs does it take?

The fitting takes three E14 small Edison screw bulbs up to 40W each. Bulbs are sold separately. Most buyers pair this with warm-white LED candle bulbs at 4-6W and 2700K for a traditional flame-effect appearance through the seeded glass.

Can it be used as a pendant instead of semi-flush?

Yes. The fitting includes 915mm of chain, allowing it to be suspended as a pendant with a maximum drop of 1405mm from ceiling to base. The chain length can be shortened during installation to suit the required drop height.

What ceiling height does it suit?

In semi-flush configuration, the fitting works best in rooms with ceiling heights of 2.2-2.6m. When chain-suspended as a pendant, it suits taller ceilings depending on the chosen drop length and the room's proportions.

Is the seeded glass clear or frosted?

The glass is clear with a seeded texture, meaning it has small bubbles and irregularities distributed throughout. This diffuses the light from the bulbs without making the glass opaque, so the internal metalwork remains partly visible when the light is off.
