Description

The Pescara is an 85cm-diameter crystal chandelier with nine E14 candle bulbs arranged on a black chrome scrolled metal frame, hung with 30% lead Asfour crystal droplets and faceted spheres. The black chrome finish gives the frame a deep gunmetal tone that contrasts with the cut crystal, which refracts light in multiple directions when the bulbs are lit.

Designed for double-height entrance halls, large dining rooms and stairwell voids with ceiling heights of 3m or higher, the Pescara has an adjustable drop from 900mm to 1850mm, allowing it to be set at the correct height above a dining table or to fill vertical space in a two-storey hall. The 850mm diameter and 13kg weight require a reinforced ceiling rose or joist fixing — standard plasterboard ceiling roses are not sufficient. The chandelier accepts nine E14 small Edison screw bulbs (sold separately), each rated up to 60W, giving flexibility to choose LED, halogen or decorative filament candles.

The Asfour crystal used in the Pescara contains 30% lead oxide, which gives higher refractive index and dispersion than standard glass, producing stronger prismatic effects and colour separation when light passes through. The crystal components include faceted spheres ranging from 20mm to 40mm diameter and cone-shaped prisms that hang on linked chains, creating cascading layers that move slightly when air circulates in the room. The black chrome finish on the scrolled metal arms is applied over a steel base and sealed to resist tarnishing, though it will show fingerprints during installation and should be handled with gloves.

Dimmer compatibility depends on the bulb type chosen. LED E14 candles require dimmable-rated LEDs and a compatible trailing-edge dimmer; halogen and traditional filament candles dim on most standard leading-edge dimmers.
