Description

The Pentleigh medium table lamp stands 580mm tall under a 400mm multicoloured Tiffany-style leaded glass shade, on a metal base with real weight to it at 4.1kg. A single 60W E27 GLS bulb sits under the shade, supplied separately. The glass is cut into panels and leaded together, so the colour sits inside the material and the shade keeps its pattern unlit as well as lit. It is a Class 2 fitting, double insulated. The proportions are the classic ones for this kind of lamp: a wide shade over a narrow stem and a broad foot.

At 580mm this is a lamp for a sideboard, a console table or a hall table rather than a small bedside cabinet. The 400mm shade needs about half a metre of clear surface, and the height puts the light at seated eye level in a living room, which is where a coloured shade does its best work.
