Description

The Pentleigh large table lamp stands 630mm tall beneath a 400mm shade of Tiffany-style leaded glass, so it reads as a taller, slimmer lamp than its width suggests. Two E27 lampholders are set within the shade, each taking an LED bulb of up to 10W, which lights the coloured glass evenly from inside. The lamp weighs 3.7kg. Bulbs are not included, leaving the colour temperature to you, whether that is a warm white for evenings or something brighter for reading.

The extra height makes this a good lamp for a console table in a hallway, a sideboard in a dining room, or a side table beside a high backed armchair where a shorter lamp would sit below the eye. Two lampholders under a single shade produce a broad, soft pool rather than a narrow one, which is what you want in a room lit mainly by lamps in the evening. The multicoloured glass suits period houses and warms up a plain modern room. It is rated IP20 for dry indoor spaces.

Small pieces of coloured glass are set into soldered metal seams and carried on a metal frame above a metal base. It is a Class 2 fitting and is not dimmable, so it runs at full output. Dust the shade with a dry soft cloth, lift marks with a barely damp cloth and dry immediately, keeping sprays and abrasive creams away from the seams, and wipe the base with a dry cloth only.
