Description

The Pentleigh large pendant sets a 500mm shade of Tiffany-style leaded glass open side down, with the overall height adjustable from 410mm to 1400mm. That span is what makes this ceiling light adaptable: close to the ceiling in a modern room, or dropped low over a table or island where you want the light concentrated. Three E27 lampholders sit inside the shade, each taking an LED bulb of up to 10W, and the pendant weighs 3.1kg. Bulbs are not included.

A downward facing shade of this width is best over something: a dining table, a kitchen island, a long console in a hallway, or a stairwell where the drop can be used in full. Light lands on the surface rather than the ceiling, which is what you want in a room where people eat or work. The multicoloured leaded glass gives period houses the warmth they suit, and in a plain modern kitchen it stops the space feeling cold. It is rated IP20 for dry indoor use.

Coloured glass pieces are set into soldered metal seams and carried on a metal frame, so the shade shifts in tone as daylight moves and glows once the bulbs are on. Dust with a dry soft cloth, lift marks with a barely damp cloth and dry at once, and keep sprays and abrasive creams away from the seams. The fitting is Class 1 and needs an earthed supply, and it dims with a compatible dimmer switch and dimmable bulbs. The wider range includes a Pentleigh semi flush, a table lamp and a wall light or wall sconce.
