Description

The Pentleigh semi flush brings a full 500mm of Tiffany-style leaded glass to within 315mm of the ceiling, so a large room can have coloured glass overhead without losing head height. Three E27 lampholders are set inside the shade, each taking an LED bulb of up to 10W, and the light spreads sideways as much as down. The fitting weighs 3kg. Bulbs are not included, which leaves the colour temperature of the room to you rather than to us.

Half a metre across makes this the semi flush for wider spaces: a double bedroom, a large landing, a through hallway, or a sitting room with a low ceiling that still needs proper light. Flush mount and semi flush fittings are the practical choice in cottages, dormer rooms and loft conversions, and this one keeps the character of leaded glass while staying safely above head height. The multicoloured glass belongs in period houses and gives a plain modern room its warmth. It is rated IP20 for dry indoor rooms.

Coloured glass is set into soldered metal seams and carried on a metal frame, so the panels look like pattern in daylight and glow once the bulbs are lit. Dust with a dry soft cloth, lift marks with a barely damp cloth and dry straight away, and keep sprays and abrasive creams away from the seams. The fitting is Class 1 and needs an earthed supply at the ceiling, and it dims with a compatible dimmer switch and dimmable bulbs. A Pentleigh pendant, table lamp and wall light run through the same range for the rest of the house.
