Description
The Penn Station is a 330mm semi-flush ceiling light with a clear glass bowl held by three curved metal straps in a western bronze finish, suspended 267mm from the ceiling on a short central stem. A single E27 bulb sits inside the glass enclosure (sold separately), with the clear bowl allowing unobstructed light spread while the bronze straps add structural accent and cast subtle shadow patterns onto the ceiling.
Designed for rooms with ceiling heights of 2.4m or lower where a pendant would sit too far into the space, the Penn Station provides overhead illumination in hallways, entrance halls, bedroom centres, and kitchen prep areas without dominating the vertical volume. The 267mm drop from ceiling to base of the glass bowl sits the fitting close to the ceiling plane, making it viable in loft conversions, period properties with lower ceiling heights, and modern flats where ceiling clearance is tight. The E27 socket accepts standard LED, halogen or filament bulbs up to 60W, allowing control over colour temperature and brightness.
The western bronze finish on the metalwork provides a darker, warmer tone than polished or antique brass, sitting closer to oil-rubbed bronze but with less surface variation. The three metal straps curve outward from the central stem and anchor at the rim of the glass bowl, giving the fitting an industrial profile without the exposed cage geometry of a typical factory light. The clear glass bowl measures approximately 200mm in height and maintains visibility of the bulb filament, so decorative Edison-style or globe bulbs work well where the fitting is mounted low enough to be viewed from standing height. Two small brass accent rivets at each strap junction add a contrasting metallic detail against the darker bronze.

Frequently Asked
What bulb does it take?
The Penn Station uses a standard E27 (Edison screw) bulb up to 60W maximum. Bulbs are sold separately. The clear glass bowl makes the bulb visible, so decorative filament or vintage Edison-style LEDs show well if the fitting is mounted at a height where the bulb can be viewed.
What ceiling height is needed?
The fitting projects 267mm from the ceiling, making it suitable for ceiling heights from 2.2m upward. In rooms with 2.4m ceilings the base of the glass bowl sits approximately 2.13m above floor level, leaving comfortable head clearance in circulation areas.
Is the glass shade replaceable if damaged?
The glass bowl is held by the three bronze straps and can be removed for cleaning or replacement. Contact Quoizel or Niori for replacement glass availability if the original bowl is damaged.
What's the difference between western bronze and oil-rubbed bronze?
Western bronze has a more uniform dark brown tone with less surface variation than oil-rubbed bronze, which typically shows darker recesses and lighter raised areas. Both finishes provide a warmer, aged metallic look compared to polished or brushed bronze.
