Pembroke Flush Ceiling Light - Black Hand-Forged Iron

The Pembroke is a 300mm flush ceiling light built from hand-forged iron with a black finish and a frosted glass diffuser. The shallow 75mm projection sits close to the ceiling without protruding into the room, making it suitable for spaces with ceiling heights under 2.4m where a pendant would hang too low. A single E27 bulb behind the frosted glass provides diffused ambient light across the ceiling plane.

Designed for hallways, bedrooms and landings, the Pembroke fits rooms where ceiling clearance is limited and a flush fitting is required rather than a drop pendant or semi-flush. The hand-forged iron rim adds a decorative edge without dominating the ceiling, and the black finish pairs with both traditional cast-iron hardware and contemporary matt-black metal schemes. The 300mm diameter suits rooms between 8-12m² for ambient lighting, or can be used in multiples down a corridor.

The iron rim is hand-forged rather than cast, giving each piece subtle variation in the surface texture and a slightly uneven profile that differs from factory-pressed metal. The frosted glass diffuser softens direct glare from the bulb and spreads light evenly across the ceiling, avoiding hotspots. The fitting accepts any standard E27 LED, halogen or filament bulb up to 60W (sold separately), allowing control over light temperature and brightness to suit the room.

The 300mm diameter works well as ambient lighting in rooms between 8-12m² such as small bedrooms, hallways and landings. For larger rooms it can be paired with additional fittings or used as secondary lighting alongside other sources.

What bulb does it take?

The Pembroke takes a standard E27 (Edison screw) bulb up to 60W. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with a warm-white LED bulb between 6-10W and 2700K-3000K for general ambient lighting.

What is the minimum ceiling clearance needed?

The fitting projects 75mm from the ceiling, so any ceiling height above 2.2m provides comfortable clearance. The flush design makes it particularly suitable for rooms with ceiling heights under 2.4m where pendant lights would hang too low.

Is the glass replaceable if it breaks?

The frosted glass diffuser is a separate component that can be replaced. Contact Elstead Lighting or Niori for spare parts availability. The iron rim and glass are held together with visible fixings that can be unscrewed for maintenance.
