Description

This miniature mantel clock takes the shape of a classic camper van, with a light blue body, a cream roof and a cheerful scatter of peace signs, rainbows and flowers. The word PEACE appears in green lettering along the sides and across the roof, where LOVE sits beside a sweeping rainbow stripe. The clock face is set into the middle of one side, a clear white dial with Arabic numerals and slim hands inside a bright silver-tone surround. The details are lovely: a silver-tone grille, sparkling round headlamps, tiny red and yellow lights, dark windows and silver hubcaps. Made from metal alloy, it measures 4.5cm high, 10cm wide and 4cm deep.

As a mantel clock it stands on its own four wheels, so it needs no wall and no fixings. Set it on a mantelpiece, a bookshelf, a desk or a bedside table and it keeps time wherever it sits. Its small size suits the spaces where a full clock would crowd things, such as beside a lamp, at the end of a row of books or on a dressing table. We think it makes a fun gift for anyone aged 13 and over, and its rainbow colours bring a bright, happy note to a plain room.

Inside is a quartz movement powered by one LR66 button cell battery, and the battery is included, so it is ready to set to the right time and enjoy. The analogue dial is easy to read at a glance. Silver-tone plating picks out the bumpers, grille, hubcaps and clock surround against the decorated metal alloy body. To keep it looking its best, dust it gently with a soft dry cloth. Set it beside a favourite holiday keepsake on the shelf, or wrap it up for someone whose desk could do with a little colour.
