Paris Outdoor Large 1 Light Wall Lantern - White

The Paris is a 230mm wide half-dome outdoor wall lantern in white galvanised steel, designed to cast light downward from a sheltered wall position. The lantern takes a single E27 bulb up to 60W (sold separately) and carries an IP43 rating, meaning it resists water spray from angles up to 60 degrees from vertical but is not weatherproof against driving rain or submersion.

Designed for covered porches, sheltered entrances, verandas and areas under roof overhangs, the Paris provides ambient wash light on paths, doorsteps and seating areas without glare. The downward-facing half-dome shields the bulb from direct view and directs light onto the ground or wall below, making it functional for wayfinding and practical for key-in-lock visibility at night. The 140mm projection from the wall keeps the lantern clear of door swings and wall-mounted furniture.

The white galvanised steel construction resists corrosion in coastal and damp climates, with the powder-coated finish providing additional protection against scratches and UV fading. The half-dome shape is press-formed from a single sheet of steel, giving clean lines without visible seams or fixings on the exterior face. The lantern suits both modern rendered exteriors and traditional painted timber cladding, and the white finish reflects daylight when unlit, keeping the fixture visible during daytime.

What does IP43 mean for outdoor use?

IP43 means the lantern resists water spray from angles up to 60 degrees from vertical, making it suitable for sheltered positions like covered porches and verandas. It is not rated for fully exposed positions where driving rain hits the fitting directly, or for use in wet rooms or areas subject to water jets.

What bulb should I use?

The lantern takes a standard E27 bulb up to 60W. Most users fit a warm-white LED (2700K-3000K) between 6-12W for efficient outdoor lighting. Bulbs are sold separately.

Can it be fitted in coastal areas?

The white galvanised steel construction resists corrosion in coastal climates. Regular rinsing with fresh water after salt spray exposure will extend the finish life in direct coastal environments.

How is it mounted?

The lantern mounts via a rear backplate with standard fixing points for masonry or timber walls. The 140mm projection from the wall allows clearance for door swings and wall-mounted items.
