Description
The Paris is a 230mm-wide outdoor wall lantern with a half-dome steel shade in matt black, housing a single downward-facing E27 bulb fitting. The steel shell is galvanised before painting to resist corrosion in sheltered outdoor locations, and the IP43 rating protects against splashing water and solid objects above 1mm. Light escapes only from the open underside, casting a downward wash onto the wall and ground below.
Designed for sheltered exterior positions such as covered doorways, recessed porches, balconies under overhangs, and garage entrances, the Paris requires protection from direct rain and horizontal weather exposure. The 140mm projection from the wall keeps the fitting clear of door frames and window casements. The downward-directed light minimises glare and light pollution while providing functional illumination for steps, paths and entry points.
The half-dome form sits flush against the mounting surface with a low-profile circular backplate, giving the fitting a compact footprint on narrow walls and door surrounds. The matt black finish absorbs rather than reflects daylight, so the fitting recedes visually when not lit. The E27 socket accepts standard bulbs up to 60W including LED, halogen and filament types (sold separately), allowing control over colour temperature and brightness to suit the application.

Frequently Asked
What does IP43 mean for outdoor use?
IP43 protects against splashing water from any direction and solid objects above 1mm. This rating suits sheltered positions such as covered porches, recessed doorways and balconies under roof overhangs, but the fitting should not be exposed to direct rain or horizontal weather.
What bulb does it take?
The Paris uses a standard E27 (Edison screw) bulb up to 60W. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with a warm-white LED bulb between 6-10W and 2700K-3000K for outdoor ambient lighting.
Can it be mounted on any wall surface?
The fitting mounts via a circular backplate with screw fixings. It can be fitted to brick, rendered masonry, timber cladding and other solid exterior wall surfaces using appropriate wall plugs and fixings for the substrate.
Does the downward light spread onto the wall?
Yes. Light escapes only from the open underside, so approximately half the output washes down onto the ground and half washes up onto the wall surface immediately behind the fitting, creating a half-moon of illumination.
