Paratebueno 2 17 Light Pendant - Brass

The Paratebueno 2 is a 17 light pendant in a brass finish. Seventeen small birds hang on fine wires from a round steel canopy, each at its own height, so the light seems to fall in a loose, drifting flock. The body is steel in a brass colour, and each bird shade is steel and plastic, with an integrated LED behind a white panel on its underside. The pendant is 220cm tall overall and 78cm across the canopy. It is rated IP20, which settles where it goes: indoors, in dry rooms, away from bathrooms and the garden.

With that long drop, this is a pendant for height: a stairwell, a double-height hallway, a tall entrance or a dining room with a generous ceiling, where the birds can be seen from below and from the side as you pass. Each LED runs at 3W and gives 380lm at a warm 3000K, so the glow is soft and golden rather than stark. The light is dimmable, so the flock can sit low and gentle in the evening and brighter whenever you need it. There is no switch on the pendant itself. It is switched at the wall, like most ceiling lights.

Because the LEDs are integrated, there are no bulbs to buy or change. The shiny brass finish catches the light, and the folded, faceted wings give each bird a crisp outline in daylight as well as after dark. It runs on 220-240V, 50/60Hz and carries energy class E. At 26.83KG packed, it is a substantial piece, and as a wired-in mains light it is installed by a qualified electrician. The installation instructions are available as a download, so you can read them before you order.

How much ceiling height does the pendant need?

The pendant is 220cm tall overall and 78cm across the canopy, so it suits a stairwell, a double-height hallway or another room with a tall ceiling.

Can the pendant go in a bathroom?

No. It is rated IP20, which means indoors in dry rooms only, so it is not one for a bathroom or the garden.

Is the pendant dimmable?

Yes, the light is dimmable, so you can bring the seventeen birds down to a soft glow in the evening. It is switched at the wall, with no switch on the pendant itself.

What colour is the light?

Each LED gives a warm 3000K light at 380lm, which reads as a soft, warm white glow rather than a cool, bright one.

Do the birds need bulbs?

No. Each bird has an integrated LED rated at 3W, so there are no bulbs to buy, fit or replace.

What material are the birds?

The bird shades are steel and plastic, and the canopy and body are steel in a brass finish that catches the light.
