Description

A slim bar of antique brass, this one is made to wash light down the face of a large canvas or a long run of framed prints. Its integrated LED draws 18W and gives a warm white 3000K light, kind to oils, watercolours and dark timber frames alike. The spread is wide rather than tight, so a broad picture is lit fairly evenly from one edge to the other. It is not dimmable and arrives unswitched, so control comes from the wall switch or the circuit it joins.

We reach for this size where a shorter picture light would leave the outer edges of a painting in shadow: over a wide landscape above a sofa, a panelled overmantel, or a hallway hung gallery style. At 90cm it is the longest we stock in the range, so measure the frame first and let the light sit a little inside the width for a settled look. It suits sitting rooms, studies, dining rooms and stairwells, and works just as well over a bookcase or a run of shelving as it does over art.

The body is finished in antique brass, a mellow, low shine tone that reads warmer than polished metal and sits comfortably against wallpaper, timber panelling or a deep painted wall. The driver is built in. Keep it looking well with an occasional pass of a soft duster along the top edge, where dust settles first, and skip metal polishes and household sprays, which will dull the antiqued surface. It carries a three year warranty. The same length is also offered in polished chrome and sand black, with shorter versions in each finish for smaller frames.
