Description

A slim horizontal bar finished in sand black, this picture light runs 60cm across and sits close to the wall, with a shallow projection that keeps it out of the way of a frame. The light source is a built-in LED array rated at 12W, giving a warm white output at 3000K that flatters oils, prints and photographs alike. It is not dimmable and has no switch on the body, so it takes its cue from the wall switch or circuit it runs on. A driver is supplied as part of the fitting.

We reach for a light this length above wide canvases, panelled overmantels and long stretches of shelving, where a single downward wash reads more calmly than a pair of shorter lamps. It works in a hallway hung with family pictures, in a study above a map or drawing, and in a dining room where you want the art lit rather than the table. The warm tone suits older interiors and dark paint especially well. We stock the shorter and longer sizes too, so a set of pictures can be lit to matching effect at different widths.

The body keeps to a plain, unfussy outline, finished in a matt sand black that soaks up glare rather than bouncing it back at the viewer. Keep it looking right by wiping the top face now and then with a dry duster, since a horizontal ledge at that height gathers dust before anything else does. It carries a three year warranty. The LED is part of the fitting, so there is nothing to replace as you go. In this width we also offer antique brass and polished chrome if black is too stark against a pale wall.
