Description

The Palma is a 390mm-tall outdoor table lamp with a smooth teardrop-shaped body moulded from opal white polyethylene. The entire body glows when lit, turning the lamp itself into the light source rather than a shade around a visible bulb. An IP65 rating protects against rain and dust, allowing the Palma to sit on outdoor dining tables, terrace floors, poolside ledges and garden steps without needing to be brought in when weather changes.

Designed for both outdoor and indoor use, the lamp suits covered patios, conservatories, living rooms and bedroom corners where ambient rather than task light is needed. The single E27 socket accepts any standard screw bulb up to the wattage specified, giving flexibility to choose warm white LEDs for cosy outdoor dining, daylight temperatures for reading, or colour-changing smart bulbs for event lighting. The 200mm base diameter gives stability on flat surfaces and the 0.90kg weight prevents the lamp tipping in moderate wind when used outdoors.

The opal white polyethylene diffuses light evenly through the body with no visible hot spots, and the material itself is impact-resistant and UV-stable for extended outdoor exposure. The teardrop profile tapers from a rounded base to a narrower tip, giving the lamp a sculptural presence even when unlit. The cable exits through the base and is approximately 2m in length, allowing positioning away from wall sockets when used indoors or connection to outdoor weatherproof sockets when used on terraces.

Can this be left outdoors in rain?

Yes. The IP65 rating protects against water jets from any direction and prevents dust ingress. The lamp can be left outdoors on terraces and patios year-round, though the bulb socket should be inspected periodically to ensure no moisture has entered through the cable entry point.

What bulb should I use?

The lamp takes a standard E27 screw bulb. Most users pair this with a 6-10W warm white LED (2700K-3000K) for ambient outdoor lighting. Colour-changing smart bulbs also work well for event lighting. Bulbs are sold separately.

Is it dimmable?

Dimming depends on the bulb and dimmer pairing. If you use a dimmable LED bulb with a compatible trailing-edge dimmer, the lamp can be dimmed. Non-dimmable bulbs will not dim regardless of the dimmer switch.

Is it stable in wind?

At 0.90kg with a 200mm base, the lamp is stable in light to moderate wind on flat surfaces. In exposed positions with strong gusts, the lamp can be weighted by placing it inside a slightly larger planter or weighting the base from underneath.
