Description

The Palace is a 5-light semi-flush crystal chandelier with a basket-shaped body formed from faceted crystal beads set within an antique gold metal frame. The frame rim carries filigree ornamentation cut from sheet metal, forming a decorative collar around the upper circumference. Five E27 bulb sockets sit inside the crystal basket, each surrounded by layers of faceted crystal beads that refract and diffuse light outward. Below the main body, three tiers of crystal droplets cascade from the base, terminating in a large faceted finial.

Designed for rooms with standard ceiling heights of 2.4m or above, the Palace fits close to the ceiling with a 43.5cm drop from canopy to finial tip, making it suitable for smaller dining rooms, hallways, bedrooms and sitting rooms where a traditional chandelier is wanted without the longer drop of a full suspension fitting. The 40cm diameter suits rooms of 3-4m width. The semi-flush mount canopy fits standard UK ceiling roses and the short cable run means no chain adjustment is needed during installation.

The antique gold finish on the metal frame has a warm, slightly aged tone that sits between polished brass and darker bronze, pairing well with warm wood furniture, cream or sage wall colours, and traditional interiors. The crystal beads are facet-cut glass rather than lead crystal, giving clear refraction without the weight or cost of full lead crystal. When lit, the five bulbs combine to create a diffused glow through the crystal basket, with additional sparkle from the droplet tiers below. The IP20 rating limits the fitting to dry indoor locations only.

What bulbs does it take?

The Palace takes five E27 bulbs, each up to 60W maximum. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with warm-white LED candle bulbs between 4-6W and 2700K to mimic traditional chandelier lighting without excessive glare through the crystal.

Is it dimmable?

Dimmer compatibility depends on the bulbs you choose. LED bulbs marked as dimmable will work with most leading-edge dimmers. The chandelier itself has no electronics that would prevent dimming.

What ceiling height is needed?

The 43.5cm drop from ceiling to finial tip suits standard 2.4m ceilings and above. The semi-flush mount sits closer to the ceiling than a traditional suspension chandelier, making it suitable for rooms where headroom is limited or where a full drop would feel too low.

Can it be used in a bathroom?

No. The IP20 rating means the fitting is designed for dry indoor locations only and is not protected against moisture. For bathrooms, a fitting with at least IP44 rating is required.
