Description

The Orlix is a 42cm flush ceiling and wall light built around a circular white blown glass diffuser set into a white painted metal frame. The fitting holds two E27 bulbs behind the glass (sold separately), which diffuse through the blown glass to produce soft, even ambient light across a ceiling or wall surface. The frame sits 8-10cm proud of the mounting surface, making it suitable for rooms where traditional pendant fittings would hang too low.

Designed for hallways, bedrooms, bathrooms (IP20 rating limits use to zones outside shower enclosures), and landing areas, the Orlix works as both a ceiling-mounted flush fitting and a wall-mounted uplighter or downlighter. The 425mm diameter covers a typical junction box while providing enough light spread for a 3-4m hallway or a 9-12m² bedroom when paired with two 10-12W LED bulbs at 2700-3000K.

The white blown glass diffuser hides the bulbs completely and softens the light output to reduce glare, while the white metal frame keeps the fitting visually recessive against white or light-coloured ceilings and walls. The glass is hand-blown, so minor bubbles or slight thickness variation are normal. The fitting is dimmable when paired with dimmable E27 bulbs and a compatible dimmer switch.

Yes. The Orlix is designed to mount flush to either a ceiling or wall surface. On walls it can be oriented to cast light upwards or downwards depending on the installation position.

What bulbs does it take?

Two E27 (Edison screw) bulbs up to 60W each. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with two 10-12W warm white LED bulbs at 2700-3000K for ambient room lighting.

Is it suitable for bathrooms?

The IP20 rating means the Orlix is suitable for bathroom zones outside the immediate shower or bath enclosure (zone 3 and beyond). It is not rated for direct water contact or high-moisture zones.

Is it dimmable?

Yes, when fitted with dimmable E27 bulbs and paired with a compatible dimmer switch. The dimmer must match the bulb type (LED-compatible dimmers for LED bulbs).
