Description
The Orlena is a 200mm globe table lamp built around a spherical shade cut from natural Spanish alabaster, raised on a four-leg brushed brass tripod base. A single G9 lamp inside the globe casts light outwards through the stone, picking up the soft mineral veining that runs across the surface. Total height is 250mm, making it a compact lamp suited to side tables, bedsides and consoles.
The brass legs lift the alabaster sphere clear of the surface so the globe reads as a floating form rather than a seated shade. With a 200mm diameter and 250mm overall height, the Orlena fits comfortably on a bedside cabinet beside a clock or book stack, on a hall console next to a tray, or as a pair flanking a sofa on matching side tables. The G9 socket accepts standard 230V G9 capsule lamps (sold separately).
Each globe is cut from a single section of Spanish alabaster, so the veining pattern, tonal variation and translucency differ between individual pieces. Unlit, the stone reads as a matt off-white sphere with faint cloud-like marbling visible in daylight. Lit, the veining becomes pronounced as light passes through the thinner sections of stone, giving the surface a layered depth that printed or moulded shades cannot replicate. The brushed brass legs are tapered at the foot and meet under the globe at a small central collar.

Frequently Asked
What bulb does the Orlena take?
The lamp uses a single G9 capsule bulb on 230V mains. Bulbs are sold separately. A warm-white G9 LED between 2700K and 3000K works well with alabaster, as cooler temperatures can wash out the natural cream tones in the stone.
Does each lamp look identical?
No. The globe is cut from natural Spanish alabaster, so the veining pattern, translucency and tonal variation differ between individual pieces. This is a feature of the natural material rather than a defect, and means each Orlena is visually unique once lit.
Where does the Orlena suit best?
At 250mm tall and 200mm wide, the Orlena is a compact lamp suited to bedside tables, hall consoles, side tables beside a sofa, and shelving. It works as a single accent piece or as a matched pair on either side of a bed or sofa.
How is the alabaster cleaned?
Alabaster is porous and softer than marble. Wipe the globe gently with a dry, soft microfibre cloth. Avoid household sprays, polishes and chemical cleaners, which can stain or etch the surface. The brushed brass legs can be wiped with the same dry cloth.
