Description

The Origo is a single-pendant light built from two stacked spheres: a 10cm textured concrete orb in matt black sitting directly above an opal white glass globe diffuser. The concrete sphere acts as the structural cap, concealing the G9 lampholder and cable entry, while the opal glass below softens and spreads the light from a single 20W G9 bulb.

The pendant suits dining tables, kitchen islands, breakfast bars and hallway runs where a compact drop light is wanted rather than a wide chandelier. With a 21cm overall height and 10cm diameter, the Origo works well in clusters at staggered heights over a longer table or kitchen island, or as a single fitting above a side table or stairwell. The 150cm cable can be shortened on installation to set the height correctly for the room.

The concrete is finished with an open, porous texture that catches light across its surface and shows fine pitting and aggregate similar to volcanic rock. The contrast between the rough matt black upper sphere and the smooth glossy opal lower globe is the defining feature of the design, giving a clear visual divide between the structural and light-emitting halves of the fitting. The black fabric-covered cable and matching ceiling fixing keep the suspension visually quiet against the pendant itself.

What bulb does the Origo take?

The pendant takes one G9 bulb up to 20W (sold separately). A warm white LED G9 between 2700K and 3000K is the most common choice, giving a soft tone through the opal glass diffuser.

Can the cable length be adjusted?

Yes. The supplied 150cm cable can be shortened on installation by a qualified electrician to set the correct drop. Above a dining table or kitchen island the pendant typically sits 700-800mm above the surface.

Can multiple Origo pendants be hung together?

Each Origo is supplied as a single pendant with its own ceiling fixing, so multiples can be installed side by side over a longer island or table. For a row of three or more from a single ceiling point, a multi-outlet plate or track would need to be added separately.

Is the concrete sphere solid?

The upper sphere is moulded concrete with an open, porous surface texture. Each piece will show slight variation in pitting and tone, which is a feature of cast concrete rather than a defect.
