Description
The Orcutt is a three-blade ceiling fan with a light set into its centre, finished in matt black with an opal acrylic diffuser beneath the hub. It measures 132cm across the blades and 45.5cm high, and hangs from a slim downrod below a round ceiling canopy. The light is an integrated LED giving 2,300lm, a bright output that lets the fan serve as the main light in the room. It is rated IP20, which means indoor, dry rooms only, so it belongs in a living room, bedroom or study rather than a bathroom or porch.
With a span of 132cm, it suits a generous living room or main bedroom, where one fitting can move the air and light the space at once. Six speeds take it from a gentle stir on a mild evening to a firm breeze on a close summer afternoon, and the timer lets it run while you fall asleep and then switch itself off. The direction reverses, so you can run it one way for a cooling breeze in warm weather and the other way for softer air movement in cooler months. The matt black finish sits well against pale ceilings and alongside dark window frames or black metalwork.
The body is ABS, a tough, lightweight plastic, and the blades match it in black. Opal acrylic softens the LED light and spreads it evenly, and you choose 3000K warm white, 4000K neutral white or 5000K cool white with a setting on the light itself; the light also dims. A remote control comes in the box and takes AAA batteries. The fan weighs 5.1KG and is wired into the mains, so it should be installed by a qualified electrician, and the installation instructions come as a download. If the LED or its driver ever needs replacing, a specialist can do the job, so a tired light never means a new fan.

Frequently Asked
Can the Orcutt go in a bathroom or a covered porch?
No. It is rated IP20, so it is made for indoor, dry rooms such as a living room, bedroom or study, and it should be kept away from water and the outdoors.
How bright is the light on this ceiling fan?
The integrated LED gives 2,300lm through an opal acrylic diffuser, and it is dimmable, so it can light the whole room or be turned down for a quieter evening.
Which colour temperatures can the light give?
Three: 3000K, 4000K and 5000K. You pick the one you want with a setting on the light itself, from a warm white to a crisp cool white.
Does the fan come with a remote control?
Yes, a remote control comes in the box. It takes AAA batteries, and the fan itself offers six speeds, a timer and a reversible direction.
How large is the fan?
It measures 132cm across the blades and 45.5cm high, and it weighs 5.1KG, so it suits a generous room with space for the blades to turn freely.
Can the LED be replaced?
The LED is integrated rather than a bulb you change yourself, but both the LED and its driver can be replaced by a specialist if they ever need it.
