Description

The Omera is a 100mm square recessed downlight with an integrated 8W LED set within a white metal trim. The light source delivers 3000K warm-white output through a central honeycomb diffuser, casting direct downward illumination for task and general ambient lighting. The square aperture measures 100mm across with an 83mm projection depth required for the recess cavity.

Designed for internal ceiling installation in residential, commercial and retail spaces, the Omera sits flush with the ceiling surface once installed, leaving only the white square faceplate and central diffuser visible. The recessed format works particularly well in rooms with low ceilings where pendant or surface-mounted fittings would intrude into headroom. The IP20 rating limits the downlight to dry internal locations such as living rooms, hallways, offices, retail display areas and kitchens.

The white powder-coated metal trim provides a clean, neutral finish that pairs with white or light-toned ceilings without creating a visible contrast ring. The integrated LED eliminates the need for separate lamp replacement, and the 8W power draw equates to approximately 60-70W of halogen output while consuming a fraction of the energy. The non-dimmable driver keeps installation straightforward on standard mains switching circuits without requiring compatible dimmer hardware.

Frequently Asked

What ceiling void depth is needed?

The downlight requires an 83mm minimum ceiling void depth to accommodate the LED driver and housing. Measure the void before ordering to confirm clearance above joists, insulation or existing services.

Is this dimmable?

No. The integrated LED driver is non-dimmable and designed for standard on/off mains switching. Connecting it to a dimmer circuit may cause flickering or premature driver failure.

Can it be used in bathrooms?

The IP20 rating means the downlight is not protected against moisture and should only be used in dry internal locations. For bathrooms, look for downlights rated IP44 or IP65 depending on the zone.

What's the light output?

Ideal Lux does not publish a lumen figure in the specification for this model. The 8W LED at 3000K typically produces output equivalent to a 60-70W halogen downlight, suitable for general ambient lighting rather than high-intensity task work.
