Description

The Olivia is a 70cm crystal chandelier with eight E14 bulb positions arranged on a polished chrome frame beneath a black pleated fabric shade. The chrome arms curve upward to support the shade, while cut Asfour crystal droplets hang in cascading tiers below the metal structure, creating a combination of diffuse overhead light through the black fabric and sparkle from the suspended crystals.

Designed for dining rooms, living rooms and hotel lobbies with ceiling heights of 2.7m or higher, the Olivia combines ambient light from the shaded bulbs with decorative refraction from the crystals. The adjustable drop ranges from 850mm to 2180mm, allowing the chandelier to be set 700-900mm above a dining table or lower in double-height spaces. The polished chrome canopy fits standard UK ceiling roses and conceals the cable run up the chain.

The black shade is constructed from pleated organza fabric stretched over a wire frame, creating vertical folds that soften the light while still allowing the chrome structure and crystals to remain visible from below. The Asfour crystals are precision-cut glass, providing clearer refraction than acrylic or lower-grade crystal. At 6.8kg the chandelier requires a ceiling mounting point capable of supporting at least 10kg to allow for the additional static load once bulbs are fitted.

What bulbs does it take and are they included?

The Olivia takes eight E14 small Edison screw bulbs up to 40W each. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with warm-white LED candle bulbs between 4-6W and 2700K for ambient dining room light.

Is it dimmable?

Yes, provided you fit dimmable bulbs and pair the chandelier with a compatible dimmer switch. The chandelier itself has no dimming electronics — dimmer compatibility depends entirely on the bulbs you choose.

What ceiling height is needed?

The adjustable drop ranges from 850mm to 2180mm. For a dining table the chandelier typically hangs 700-900mm above the surface, which works in rooms with ceiling heights of 2.7m or above. Lower ceilings can accommodate the Olivia if the chain is shortened to the minimum 850mm drop during fitting.

How is the shade cleaned?

The pleated organza shade attracts dust. Use a soft brush attachment on a vacuum cleaner on low power, or a clean dry paintbrush to dust between the pleats. Avoid damp cleaning, which can stain the fabric or distort the pleating.
