Description

The Old Park is a 320mm semi-flush ceiling light with a geometric glass lantern encased in a polished brass frame, housing two E27 bulb sockets rated to 60W each. The faceted clear glass panels form an octagonal cage around the central stem, with the light sitting 230mm from the ceiling once mounted, making it suitable for rooms with ceiling heights of 2.3m or above where a pendant would hang too low.

Designed for hallways, low-ceilinged living rooms, bedrooms and landings, the Old Park provides ambient overhead light without requiring the drop clearance of a traditional pendant. The twin E27 sockets accept standard LED, halogen or filament bulbs (sold separately), giving control over light temperature and brightness. The polished brass frame reflects light off the glass facets, amplifying brightness and creating geometric light patterns on surrounding surfaces when lit.

The solid brass construction gives the fitting a substantial 1.8kg weight, and the polished finish provides a warm metallic tone that pairs with both traditional brass fixtures and warmer contemporary interiors. The faceted glass panels are bevelled at the edges, creating internal reflections that add visual depth to the fitting when viewed from below. The circular ceiling plate is 120mm in diameter and fits standard UK ceiling roses.

The Old Park takes two E27 (Edison screw) bulbs, each rated to a maximum of 60W. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with warm-white LED bulbs between 6-10W and 2700K-3000K for ambient room lighting.

What ceiling height is needed?

The fitting projects 230mm from the ceiling. For comfortable clearance above head height in a hallway or landing, ceiling heights of 2.3m or above are recommended. In bedrooms where the fitting is centred away from walking paths, lower ceilings can accommodate the Old Park.

Is it suitable for low ceilings?

Yes. The semi-flush design sits close to the ceiling compared to a pendant, making it a better choice for low-ceilinged rooms where a hanging pendant would intrude into the space.

How is the glass cleaned?

The faceted glass panels can be wiped with a soft microfibre cloth dampened with distilled water. For stubborn marks, a mild glass cleaner is acceptable. Clean with the bulbs removed and the power off. The polished brass frame can be wiped with a dry cloth to remove dust and fingerprints.
