Description

The Okno is a 110mm square recessed LED downlight with adjustable colour temperature from 3000K warm white through to 6000K cool white, controlled by a wall switch cycling system. The integrated 12W LED sits behind a white frosted diffuser within a white aluminium bezel that sits flush with the ceiling surface once installed. The IP44 rating allows use in bathrooms (outside shower zones), kitchens and covered outdoor areas.

Designed for residential and commercial ceiling installation, the Okno requires a 105mm square ceiling cut-out and minimum 60mm void depth above the ceiling for the aluminium driver housing. The 100-degree beam angle provides even spread across a 2.5-3m area when ceiling-mounted at standard 2.4m height, making it suitable for general lighting in living rooms, kitchens, hallways, bathrooms and office spaces. The CCT adjustment allows the same fitting to deliver warm ambient light in the evening or cool task light during daytime work.

The aluminium body and plastic diffuser construction dissipates heat efficiently through the finned driver housing visible in the image, extending LED lifespan beyond typical downlight fittings. The white powder-coated finish on the visible bezel blends into white and light-coloured ceilings without visual interruption. The AC 165-265V input voltage accommodates standard UK mains and European installations without additional transformers.

How does the colour temperature adjustment work?

The CCT function cycles through three preset colour temperatures (3000K warm white, 4000K neutral white, 6000K cool white) by switching the mains power off and back on within 3 seconds. The downlight remembers the last setting between power cycles. This requires no additional control wiring beyond the standard mains connection.

What ceiling cut-out size is needed?

The Okno requires a 105mm square cut-out in the ceiling surface. The visible bezel measures 110mm square and overlaps the cut-out by 2.5mm on each side to conceal the ceiling edge. A minimum 60mm void depth above the ceiling is needed to accommodate the driver housing and heat dissipation fins.

Can it be used in bathrooms?

The IP44 rating protects against water splashes from any direction, making it suitable for bathroom zones outside the shower cubicle (Zone 2 and beyond in UK bathroom zoning). It is not rated for installation directly above a shower or bath where direct water spray occurs (Zone 0 or 1).

Is the LED replaceable?

No. The LED is integrated into the driver assembly and is not user-replaceable. The fitting is covered by a 5-year warranty and the LED is rated for 25,000+ hours of operation, which equates to approximately 11 years at 6 hours daily use.
