Description

The Nydia is a 2-light crystal wall light with two curved polished chrome arms extending from a circular chrome backplate, each supporting a faceted crystal bobeche beneath an upward-facing E14 candle socket. Two strands of octagonal crystal beads drape beneath the backplate in a shallow arc, connecting both arms and catching ambient light to add sparkle at eye level.

Designed for hallways, living rooms and bedrooms where decorative wall lighting is needed without overwhelming the space, the Nydia sits 330mm wide and projects 180mm from the wall, making it suitable for positioning either side of a mirror, flanking a fireplace, or as symmetrical pairs in a dining room. The chrome arms curve gently upwards, directing light towards the ceiling while the crystal draping below adds visual interest at the lower half of the fitting.

The polished chrome finish provides high reflectivity that amplifies the sparkle from the faceted crystals, while the 1kg total weight sits comfortably on standard UK plasterboard with appropriate wall fixings. The fitting accepts two E14 candle bulbs up to 60W each (sold separately), and is dimmable when paired with dimmable bulbs and a compatible dimmer switch. Optional clip-on fabric shades can be added to each arm to soften the light output where a more diffused glow is preferred.

What bulbs does the Nydia take?

The fitting takes two E14 small Edison screw candle bulbs up to 60W each. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with warm-white LED candle bulbs between 4-6W and 2700K for a traditional candelabra appearance.

Is it dimmable?

Yes, when fitted with dimmable E14 bulbs and connected to a compatible dimmer switch. The fitting itself supports dimming; the bulbs and dimmer determine the actual dimming performance.

Can fabric shades be added?

Yes. Diyas offers optional clip-on fabric shades that fit over the E14 bulbs to soften the light output and reduce glare. These are sold separately and clip directly onto the bulb without tools.

What wall fixings are needed?

The 1kg weight requires appropriate wall fixings for your wall type. On plasterboard, use hollow-wall anchors rated for at least 2kg. On masonry, use plugs and screws suitable for the wall construction. The fitting mounts via a standard UK wall bracket that connects to mains wiring.
